About CSS Exams

CSS Exams comprise of Written portion (1200 Marks), psychological Test + Viva Voce (300 marks) along with Medical Test and security & police clearance.
There are 6 compulsory papers viz.
1-      English Essay Writing
2-      English Précis and Composition
3-      Everyday Science
4-      Current Affairs
5-      Pakistan Affairs
6-      Islamic Studies
There is a wide range of options for optional subjects from which a candidate has to select subjects carrying 600 marks. However, subjects selection has certain rules to ensure variety in every candidate’s knowledge.
Other eligibilities are; less the 28 years age, minimum Graduate level education in second Division and good health.

How to get successful in CSS???

The most basic prerequisite of CSS is a good command over written English. Those candidates, who have studied science subjects in their HSE (Intermediate) level, have clear advantage over others because of Everyday Science Paper. Similarly, those who have studied Political Science, History or literature also enjoy facility to succeed in CSS.
